Check out http://mcsnacktime.wordpress.com! It's an awkward attempt at a music blog, which I am trying to do some fun unique things with. Check back often to see how it's going.

More loops! Can I be famous now? Please? I've been a good boy, I used all the clichés! I even jumped on the "bit" bandwagon. Can I be loved now?

Welcome Mediocre Nation!

We Are the Scene was featured in a recent music episode of my favorite podcast the mediocre show. Here's a link to the show in iTunes.

If that show is what brought you here then you probably want to check out the downloads section where you can download 3 EPs from We Are The Scene, as well as many other projects. And hey, thanks for stopping by!

Output
My first project involving Logic 8. Probably nothing more to it.

10 times 5
Yet another fake bit glitch track. I imagine maybe giving it away to someone, but never using it myself.

In The Barn
Now here's the real song. I started it a few nights ago, but added the guitar last night. I like the feel, needs mixing and some more writing, but I think it could actually turn out to be a pretty nice polished song in the end.

More new music. Here they are, in no particular order.

Dirtty
Testing out multi channel rewireing through Live 6 and Reason 4.

1984
A new wave sounding song. Very poppy, very rough.

Yes Sirt
An odd fake bit attempt. Too much glitching?

Lean.
Here's the newest song. I'm really excited about it. Its very rough, but I've already started coming up with vocal ideas, and I think Alexis' voice will really complement the sound.

Murkey
Here's another step in an odd direction... Muddy Water sample, Portishead style. As always, it's very rough....

I'm just going to start uploading my new songs to this page. Originally I wanted to setup a blog someowhere to direct people to so they could hear the new clips, and listen to my musicial rantings, and then I remembered "Oh wait, I have a fucking website!" So here it is. The new shit.

Thumb Bone
This is probably my favorite thing I've done in a long time. I sampled one of my many renditions of "Dry Bones" and got this. Its probably going to appear (with lyrics) on the mix tape I'm working on.

32
Messing around with Nanoloop drums and Orchestral samples. I doubt this will go much farther.

Am I A Grunge Superstar?
Here's a song that was just an experiment. Trying out the new synths available in Reason 4.0 (which is very nice by the way). It also contains some Nanoloop 2.0 samples that I snagged from Alexis' dad.

Can You Feel it Steven?
Messing with jazz loops...

I will fucking kill you (featuring Maxx Jenga)
I sampled his voice again, he's going to have to kill me... The guitar is a sample from Pink Floyd's "The Wall." I really like how this is turning out, though I'm not quite sure it'll be anything more than a novelty piece.

And last but not least:

Chicago Wars!
Fresh off the presses. I sampled some really great drums, and wanted to show them off, So I used an old Star Wars sample and mixed it together and this is what I got. I love this drum kit!

Updated the look of the site, thats about it. This weekend Richee and I are getting together to work on some new We Are The Scene tracks. Should be very exciting!

Somehow I missed this when I listened to the RFP, but Mr. Grape made this track from that first We Are The Scene demo I put up, its pretty great, so CHECK IT OUT! So yeah. There ya go.

After a scary weekend where I almost got raped at knife point, I felt like it was a good time to update! First off, 2 new GisUS songs from the new album were played on Saturday's Rainbow Family Podcast, followed by "First.Demo.Ever" and "drop.science.(demo)." The stroking of my massive ego must NEVER CEASE! As far as new music goes, a few new things are in the works in addition to writing some new material for We Are The Scene and Snip Snip Sweetheart.

05/21/07

Added First.Demo.Ever. by We Are The Scene. This was the first thing Richee and I ever recorded together WAY back in 2002. Also was recorded during this session was a cover of Nine Inch Nails "Starfuckers, inc." though saddly, that song was lost forever. Also added some more tracks in the downloads section, as well as some links to Rainbow Family Podcast episodese where either I was a guest, or I hosted.

"The Death of Tommy Shine" EP is almost done. Really. I mean it this time. I might might might upload some samples of the album, but I would much rather you experience as you are supposed to. So keep checking back for that...

New layout, some new content on its way. Blah blah blah SCENE SCENE SCENE.

04/04/07

Hey everybody, welcome to mcsnacktime.com!

New We Are The Scene demo "drop. science." up for download. Hopefully Richee and I are getting back together soon to finish an actual cd.

All the music is finished for the "Death of Tommy Shine EP" and now its up to that crazy guy over at Right Brain Rebels to finish the artwork. Expect that CD in about a month or 2 from now.

Snip Snip Sweet Heart's first CD of pop covers is nearing completion as well, expect that around June or so. The full length album of orginal matterial should be done no later than September. But I'm a flake so who knows.
